SHEHU-SANI

Shehu Sani, Ex-Kaduna Central Senator, has reacted to the suspension of the new electricity tariff by one week.
Press had earlier reported that James Momoh, Chairman, Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) confirmed this on Monday.
Momoh spoke when the ad hoc Technical Committee on Electricity Tariff submitted its interim report at a bilateral meeting between the Federal Government and the Organised Labour.
He said the week extension was to enable the committee review and work out modalities for the implementation of the agreement reached on the electricity tariff’s structure.
According to him, the government was using the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) VAT proceeds to provide relief in electricity tariff.
Reacting to the development, Sani, in a tweet, insisted that the suspension of the new electricity tariff by a week would only throw crumbs to the Organised Labour and differ the agony of Nigerian People by seven days.
“The suspension of the new electricity tariff by “one week” amounts to throwing crumbs to Labour and differing the agony of Nigerian People by seven days,” Sani tweeted.
