Police urge Muslims to comply with rules to curb COVID-19 - Sallah

The Niger State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Usman, has urged Muslims to adhere strictly to Government guidelines in containing the spread of the COVID-19-19 pandemic during the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
Usman in a statement to felicitate with the Muslim faithful in the state, said the use of face mask, maintaining social distance and avoiding mass gathering must be maintained.
The state police boss noted that while the Eid prayer is to be observed at various Juma’at Mosques, Durba and Horse riding activities are suspended.
He also maintained that night curfew between 10pm to 4am is still in place.
The Command, As stated by him, has emplaced adequate security measures before, during and after the Eid period.
“The command wants to and assures Nigerlites of peaceful Eid-el-Kabir. Parents/Guardians are hereby admonished to caution their wards against any form of public disturbance as the Command will not hesitate to clamp down on any miscreant who may want to disrupt public peace.”
The CP further called on the Muslims to use the period to pray for the state and the nation as a whole in this trying time of COVID-19 and report any suspicious movement/incident to law enforcement agencies.
He then wished all Muslim Ummah in the State a joyous and hitch-free Sallah.
