
Professor Folabi Olumide, pioneer Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), has passed away.
The outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Lanre Fagbohun, confirmed his demise on Friday.
“Professor Olumide died today, Friday, 8th January, 2021, after a brief illness at the age of 81 years”, his statement read.
Fagbohun prayed God to give the family members and others the fortitude to bear the loss.
Olumide was LASU VC from its inception in 1983 to1988.
The institution honoured the late surgeon in 2020.
The LASU Health Centre was renamed Folabi Olumide Health Centre.
