PDP chieftain, Ozigbo demands reversal of Twitter suspension in Nigeria
A People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Anambra, Valentine Ozigbo wants the suspension of Twitter operations in Nigeria reversed.
Ozigbo called on the federal government to reconsider its stand, noting that the decision was against the constitutional rights of Nigerian People to freely access information.
The businessman described the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration’s action as “hasty and regrettable”.

Ozigbo said the economic consequences ought to have been reviewed before the pronouncement.
Twitter, As stated by him, is a platform that drives business and creates jobs for millions of citizens, especially the youths.

He warned that the sanction would have negative effects on the economy, the country’s image and the youths who use the platform to advance their careers.
Ozigbo advised the Nigerian government to think about investor confidence and how government policies affect Foreign Direct Investments.
“As an investor in technology and communications, I appreciate the role of social networking platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook in driving business and the economy.
“I condemn the suspension of Twitter in Nigeria and call on the federal government to reverse the ban and save the country from further isolation and embarrassment”, his statement added.
