The Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege has congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma for his victory at the Supreme Court.

Describing the development as a victory for democracy, Omo-Agege said his victory had affirmed that the Judiciary remained the last hope of the common man.

As stated by him, light will always prevail over darkness, no matter how long it takes.

In a congratulatory message he personally signed, Senator Omo-Agege who doubles as South-South APC Leader said, ”I join millions of Nigerian People in congratulating you on your well-deserved electoral victory at the Supreme Court.

“Your victory and that of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC)…

is a clear indication that no matter how long it takes, light will always prevail over darkness.

“By reclaiming Imo State, I am optimistic that our party, the APC, will clinch more states not only in the South East geopolitical zone but also in the South-South in the 2023 governorship elections”.

Also, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, on his Twitter page wote, ”Congratulations to Sen. Hope Uzodinma on his victory at the Supreme Court which declared him winner of the March 9, 2019, Imo Governorship election.

”Your steadfastness in seeking justice by following the due democratic process all the way to the Supreme Court has paid off.

Press had reported that the Supreme Court in a unanimous judgment on Tuesday sacked Emeka Ihedioha as Governor of the State and declared Hope Uzodinma winner.

It ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to withdraw the certificate of return from Ex-Governor, Emeka Ihedioha and issue same to Uzodinma.
