Ex-Arsenal star, Charlie Nicholas has predicted that Chelsea will overcome a tough Crystal Palace side in their Premier League clash on Saturday.

Frank Lampard’s side are level on points with Leicester City in third after 11 games and are becoming an exciting team to watch.

The Blues have won their last five Premier League games, while they are also on course to make it out of their Champions League group.

Palace sit in ninth spot but already have scalps away to Manchester United and West Ham this season, while they also drew at Arsenal.

Roy Hodgson’s men are better on the counter attack and this seems to help them away from home.

Nicholas told Sky Sports, “Crystal Palace are a better side away from home. Roy Hodgson has done a fabulous job when you consider he hasn’t really got a striker on the books.

“Christian Benteke’s goal record tells you everything, although Jordan Ayew has four goals this campaign.

“Palace just keep plodding away – Gary Cahill has improved them. Wilfried Zaha likes to turn up in these games.

“Mason Mount may be out, but Christian Pulisic is two footed, has lovely balance and is a great finisher.

“Chelsea had a wonderful comeback against Ajax – they should have seen the job off and they didn’t in the end.

“I think Chelsea will get over the line but it will be a tight one.”
