Nigeria on Monday recorded 216 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, confirmed this on its Twitter page.

With this development, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria has risen to 6175.

The tweet read: “216 new cases of #COVID19; 74-Lagos, 34-Katsina, 19-Oyo, 17-Kano,13-Edo, 10-Zamfara,8-Ogun,8-Gombe,8-Borno, 7-Bauchi

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the gradual easing of the lockdown in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun States by another two weeks.
