Kaduna PDP chieftain slams Adesina over foreign investor comment
A chieftain of opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna North Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Mallam Yusufu Abdulrasheed, on Tuesday, challenged Femi Adesina, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, to name any foreign investor that has come to Nigeria in the last one year.
Press recalls that Adesina had during a live interview on Channels Television stated that foreign investors have been coming to do business in Nigeria in spite of security challenges the country is facing.
Reacting to Adesina’s comment in Kaduna on Monday, Abdulrasheed who was Ex-Chairman, Kaduna North Local Government, asked Adesina to mention just one investor that has come to stay in Nigeria.
According to him, most Nigerian businesses in some parts of the country have folded due to insecurity.
“Prices of commodities, building materials, foodstuff, iron and all essential and house hold items have increased today because most of the investors have closed their shops. Farmers could no longer go to farm because of bandits. Nigerian People who have the interest to invest could no longer do so because of the fear of kidnappers. The rich in this country are now pretending to be poor because they are afraid of gunmen,” he said.
He said the country is no longer safe for anyone, even the presidency, as bandits have taken charge, and can carry out their operations without fear.
