Guardiola speaks on Man City giving Real Madrid guard of honour - UCL

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has dismissed claims that his team should give La Liga champions, Real Madrid a guard of honour when both sides clash in the Champions League semi-final second leg tie on Wednesday night in Spain.
Trophy winners in the Spanish topflight have customarily been applauded onto the pitch by their next opponents as a mark of respect.
However, Guardiola was asked by the Spanish media if Man City should applaud Real Madrid's players onto the pitch ahead of Wednesday's fixture, but the Spaniard seemed baffled by the suggestion.

"No, I don't have an opinion on that. That is a question for UEFA," Guardiola responded.
"I understand that you ask me something about the league, about Real Madrid becoming champions, but as spokesman for this club, which is what I am, we congratulate them, but this is the Champions League."
Meanwhile, the winner of tonight's clash between Real Madrid and Man City will meet Liverpool in the Champions League final later this month.
