A security guard, Bala Usman, who allegedly invited robbers to break into his boss’ apartment and steal a Honda Sports Utility Vehicle, SUV valued at N6m, has been arrested in Lagos State.
Usman allegedly stole the key to the

from his unnamed boss’ residence in the Ikoyi area, and thereafter invited his syndicate, Chika Asogwa and Abubakar Garba, to abscond with the car.
Usman and his accomplice were however arrested on Friday by policemen attached to the Isolo division in Ire Akari Estate in the Isolo area while trying to sell the vehicle at N2m, the Punch is reporting.
Confirming the incident on Tuesday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the suspects were arrested in their attempt to sell the vehicle for N2m instead of the N6m market value.
“That was what raised suspicion. Usman was also there. The suspects had put a fake number plate, AGL 943 DP, on the vehicle.
“Apart from the three, one Chike Umeh and Ekene Eze, who received the stolen vehicle and helped in scouting for buyers, were also arrested by the police.
“The five suspects are undergoing interrogation at the division,” the PPRO said, adding that the suspects will be charged to court when investigations are completed.
