Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has charged journalists to be objective, balance in their reportage, especially during the 2023 general elections.

The governor stated this while making remarks at the lecture and award presentation in honor of late Ahmad Abubakar, Ex-chairman correspondence chapel of Jigawa State held at Sir Ahmadu Bello Hall, Dutse.

Represented by his Deputy, Malam Umar Namadi, Abubakar said journalists, as the fourth estate of the realm, have key roles to play in the development of a country.

He advised working journalists against sensational reportage to avoid overheating the polity.

Badaru, in spite of that, commended the late Ahmad Abubakar for respecting the ethical values of the noble profession.
