EFCC reportedly arrests ex-FIRS Chairman, Tunde Fowler over alleged N5b fraud - BREAKING

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested a Ex-Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, Babatunde Fowler.
Fowler, a longtime ally of Bola Tinubu, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was arrested over an alleged N5bn fraud carried out while he headed FIRS.
The Ex-FIRS boss is said to be undergoing interrogation at the anti-graft’s office in Lagos State.
According to Sahara Reporters, nine senior officials were detained by the EFCC over alleged multi-billion Naira fraud in 2019.
President Muhammadu Buhari had sacked Fowler in 2019 after he was issued a query for worsening tax revenues since 2015.
