Dogara mocks opponents as protégé, APC’s Leko wins Bauchi Reps seat

Ex-House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara has congratulated his associate Jafaru Gambo Leko.

The member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bauchi State won the Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa federal constituency election.

The results: Tafawa Balewa LGA: APC – 30660, PDP – 25060; Bogoro LGA: APC – 8792, PDP – 17175; Dass LGA: APC – 14676, PDP – 10,079.

Dogara defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, last year in protest of the controversial Muslim-Muslim ticket APC,

While in APC, the PDP chieftain supported Leko to win the ticket and worked for his victory at the poll in spite of party differences.

On Monday, Dogara, who on Sunday predicted Atiku Abubakar will become President in May, mocked his opponents in a Twitter post.

“I ask, how do you retire me from politics when God has not retired me?

“They procured thugs to attack us and even stole BVAS from some polling units but regardless, a protégé of the one they wanted to forcibly retire will succeed him & another is coasting home in the Senate race.

“Congratulations to my successor. We took a righteous stance based on justice, fairness and accommodation for all regardless of tribe/creed and the God of justice showed up.

“Hard work produced you and the reward for hard work is more work. Your work starts now!,” Dogara tweeted.
