Chris Armas to join Rangnick's coaching staff at Man Utd - EPL
Ex-Toronto FC manager, Chris Armas, is set to join the Manchester United coaching staff following the arrival of interim manager, Ralf Rangnick, ESPN reports.
Armas was sacked by Toronto in July this year after less than six months in charge of the club.
During his time at the helm, Toronto suffered a 7-1 defeat to D.C. United, the worst result in the club’s history.
However, Armas will look to redeem himself at Man United after being recruited as the first new member of Rangnick’s backroom staff.
The 49-year-old was given his work permit on Tuesday morning after initially being denied for not having a UEFA Pro License.
Armas will now line up alongside Rangnick in the Man United dugout as the German’s assistant manager.
Rangnick had last week said during his first press conference that he would retain the majority of the club’s current backroom staff ‘because he needs their ‘experience and expertise.’
However, the German did say he would hire ‘one or two’ additional staff members.
