President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday commiserated with the government and people of Ghana over the recent flooding and fire outbreak which claimed several lives in the country.
The president’s condolence was contained in a statement made available to journalists by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.
Buhari, in the message, said Nigeria would stand by Ghana in its moment of grief and loss.
“In this moment of grief and loss, the government and people of Nigeria stand with the government and people of Ghana,” he said.
Buhari described the incidents as painful and regrettable.
He noted that the flooding reminded leaders and governments in the West African sub-region of their responsibilities to the problem of global warming, among others.
