1. The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has rescheduled its state congresses by two weeks. The exercise which was initially scheduled for October 2, 2021, has now been moved to October 16, 2021. On Wednesday, Secretary of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe, said an updated timetable would be communicated shortly.

2. The Peoples Democratic Party may zone its national chairmanship position to the South-West. The recommendation to zone the position to the South-West was contained in a leaked working document prepared by the party's 44-member National Convention Committee on Zoning.

3. The Yoruba Nation protesters, again stormed the Nigerian Consulate in New York, Tuesday and yesterday demanding a separate state for the Yoruba, who they claimed were no longer safe in Nigeria. They reminded President Muhammadu Buhari of his 2015 United Nations General Assembly speech, where he called for self-determination in favour of Western Sahara people and the Palestinians.

4. Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has said rotational presidency is not in the constitution of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The governor who spoke during the inauguration of a presidential campaign movement for him by some northern youth in Kaduna, said Nigerian youths will decide his fate in the presidential race.

5. The Senate on Wednesday approved the 2022 - 2024 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP). The Red Chamber maintained the crude oil benchmark price of $57 per barrel as proposed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

6. Prominent Nigerian People including a Ex-Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Attahiru Jega and a political economist, Professor Pat Utomi, will on October 1 unveil a mega political movement. There is a strong indication that talks had reached an advanced stage for the merger of some existing opposition political parties as part of the new movement.

7. Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has blamed Nigeria's debt burden on previous administrations. But speaking at plenary on Wednesday, Olamilekan said a huge part of Nigeria's total debt profile roughly estimated at N33 trillion was incurred by past administrations, dating back to the military era.

8. The Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, has berated his counterpart in Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, over the latter's comment on anti-open grazing law. El-Rufai had described the laws being signed by some of the southern governors as unrealistic. But Akeredolu, in a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Donald Ojogo, said such a statement should not have come from a leader.

9. Suspected Fulani herdsmen were said to have kidnapped a pregnant woman and two others in Ogun, demanding a ransom of N30 million. The Ogun police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident.

10. The Senate has constituted a Conference Committee for the 2021 Electoral Act Amendment Bill. The committee will meet with that of the House of Representatives to harmonise the 2021 Electoral Act Amendment Bill passed by both chambers of the National Assembly.
