1. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has insisted it has the capacity to transmit election results electronically from remote areas across Nigeria. Mr Festus Okoye, INEC's National Chairman and Commissioner for Information and Voter Education stated this on Saturday while featuring on Channels TV program.

2. Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige yesterday told the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to desist from linking him to the re-arrest of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Ngige, in a statement by his media office on Saturday, insisted he does not have the time to involve himself with security and diplomatic matters.

3. The Federal Government has said that in line with operative conventions and laws, it will take possession of the 1,130 looted Benin bronzes being expected from Germany. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on Saturday in Lagos, addressed a news conference on efforts by the federal government to repatriate the looted artefacts around the world.

4. The Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, yesterday said the federal government had approved N79 billion for the reconstruction of the Ilaro-Papalanto-Sagamu expressway. Addressing residents of Yewa South at Ilaro, Abiodun put the length of the road at 100 kilometres.

5. Two sisters between the ages of 9 and 11 have been killed by a rainstorm in Ja'oje village, Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State. Confirming the incident yesterday, the director, Relief and Rehabilitation in the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mustapha Umar, also said 144 animals were killed by the storm.

6. Imo State Police Commissioner, Abutu Yaro, has ordered an investigation into the alleged attempts by two women to sell a nine-month-old baby for N400,000. A statement signed by the Command's Public Relations Officer, CSP Mike Abatam, quoted Yaro as saying that the command was aware of the trending story and had launched an investigation to unravel the root cause of the matter.

7. The Enugu State Ministry of Health yesterday, confirmed that there was a cholera outbreak in New Artisan Market, Enugu, which caused the death of seven people in the market with 19 sick persons identified with the symptoms of stooling and vomiting. Commissioner for Health, Dr Emmanuel Ikechukwu Obi, confirmed the outbreak.

8. One of the notorious bandits terrorising the Northwest, Kachalla Turji, has let lose his gang on several villages in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State. He is angry that his father was arrested by security agents. At the last count yesterday, the gang had abducted up to 150 villagers and travellers.

9. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Bello has ordered that all parks and recreational grounds are to remain closed throughout the Eid-El-Kabir celebration. Bello gave the directive at a meeting of the FCT Emergency Operations Committee (EOC) on COVID-19.

10. Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong has signed four bills passed by the Plateau State House of Assembly into law at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos. The bills signed into law include Plateau State Legislative Funds Management Law; Plateau State Judiciary Funds Management Law; Plateau State Property and Land Use Charge Law; and the Plateau Geographic Services Law.
