Good morning! Here are 10 things you need to know this morning.

1. Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as removed its national chairman of the party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff . the party subsequently set up a Caretaker Committee headed by a Ex-Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi and mandated the committee to elect a new National Working Committee, NWC, for the party within three months.

2. Ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said there is no better time than now to invest in the Nigerian economy especially in the area of agriculture.

Atiku explained that it remains true that the nation is currently facing economic challenges, it presents a big opportunity for investments.

3. A private school in Osun State, Kunike International School, Osogbo, has offered to give full scholarship to the first two Chibok girls rescued from the captivity of the Boko Haram sect. Amina Alli, rescued and Serah Luka were rescued last week from Sambisa Forest which is the hideout of the dreaded terror group.

4. Some gunmen suspected to be kidnappers had abducted the traditional ruler of Elete town in Kogi, Chief Aminu Aku.

Aku was kidnapped by a gang of five masked gunmen at about 8:30 pm on Friday in his town located on the Lokoja-Ajaokuta highway, while returning from a function at Ajaokuta.

5. Music legend, Bongos Ikwue has strongly the killings of innocent Nigerian People, particularly Agatu people of Benue State by suspected Fulani Herdsmen. Bongos, who was speaking ahead of the Agatu Peace Concert holding in Abuja today, called on the federal government to address the issue without delay.

6. Abductors of the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Ishola Fulani-Balogun, and the Secretary of the party, Chief Bode Adekanye, have demanded for N50 million ransom.

The kidnappers made the demand on Friday night after they had allowed the APC chiefs to speak with their family members for the first time.

7. Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Dr Nicholas Okoh has kicked against the proposed grazing reserves for Fulani herdsmen by the federal government.

The cleric, who warned that such decision would lead to a civil war, added that establishing grazing sites across the country would give herdsmen “unwarranted special preference” and make them automatic indigenes of all the regions of the country.

8. Gunmen, believed t be Fulani herdsmen on Friday evening invaded Oke Ako in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State killing two people and injuring three. he assailants, numbering about 20, stormed the sleeping town around 8 p.m and unleashed terror on the residents.

9. President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday begin a two-day working visit to Lagos. Buhari, who would be officially visiting the state for the first time since he assumed office on May 29 last year, would formally commission the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Rescue Unit, at Cappa, near Oshodi.

10. Ex-members of the Niger Delta militia group has called on the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) to stop unnecessary destruction of pipeline and national assets in the Niger Delta region. The Ex-‘generals’ under the aegis of Leadership, Peace and Cultural Development Initiative (LPCDI), told the avengers that their actions would only compound the suffering in the region.
